Original paintings, photography, and whimsical creations
"I want people to feel joy when they look at my art."
Mari Foster opened Blue Melon Rendezvous in 2016, transforming a historic building on Main Street into a vibrant celebration of creativity. What began as a modest 400-square-foot space has grown into over 4,000 square feet of gallery space.
The gallery's whimsical name was inspired by Jimmy Buffett's "Blue Heaven Rendezvous," suggested by friend Kevin Herrera after the local Crafters Mall burned down. The building, once home to the North Mississippi Herald, was lovingly renovated by Eddie Foster.
Mari's work spans abstract paintings, the acclaimed Turquoise Galaxy series featuring layered colors and gold leaf, the Lake Shore series inspired by geological formations around Enid and Granada lakes, and playful fantasy creations that bring smiles to all who visit.

Layered colors, collage elements, and luminous gold leaf create cosmic landscapes that shimmer with life and movement.
Inspired by the geological formations around Enid and Granada lakes, these pieces capture the organic beauty of North Mississippi's waterways.
Dragons, fantastical creatures, and playful characters emerge from unexpected canvases, including vintage furniture and found objects.
A continuous practice of spontaneous creation, these intimate works capture moments of inspiration in their purest form.
